ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Do we need to book in advance?
Do I get a booking confirmation?
For online bookings, you will receive a confirmation email that confirms your payment. On this email, your booking reference is displayed. Please bring this confirmation with you when redeeming your session, as there is a bar code that needs to be scanned.
If you did not receive the confirmation email, please check your junk mail; failing that you can call us on 01646 652000 to check that your booking was completed.
Yes, there is plenty of free parking available at the site all year round.
You should wear suitable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions that you do not mind getting damaged.
Firmly attached, fully enclosed footwear (ideally with some ankle support) must be worn during participation - no open toed, slip off or sandal-type shoes are permitted for your safety.
Long hair must be tied back and, for comfort, your waist covered (with any piercing removed or taped over).
Please also ensure any jewellery is removed so it does not get damaged or caught during the course.
You will be provided with the necessary safety equipment to participate in all activities on the Tree Tops Trail.
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before the start time of your booked session.
Simply park in the larger Heatherton overflow carpark then head straight for our Tree Tops Trail reception, next to the Craft Shack Café.
You can take a camera on the courses with you, however, they must be attached to you so they don't fall and won't be in the way whilst you negotiate the obstacles. Go pro cameras can only be used if attached via chest or wrist, Not on the helmet.
If you wish to use your phone for photos and videos, you must use a suitable lanyard to keep your phone safe and secure.
Will an instructor accompany us?
You will be trained to use the safety system by an instructor before going on the course, ensuring you are confident with the procedure. You will then be led to a training course with an instructor where you will get a taster of the obstacles and get used to the safety system at height. Following this you will be led to the main courses where an instructor will be patrolling in case you need assistance.
Do I have to 'clip on' and 'clip off' between obstacles?
No, both our junior and senior courses have continuous wire systems for your safety, so there's no need to clip on and off between obstacles.
Can under 18 year olds go on the course on their own?
16 year olds and over can sign for themselves and do not require an adult. One adult (18 years plus) can supervise up to 6 under 16 year olds from the ground on either the junior or main trail.
What weather conditions does the Tree Tops Trail run in?
The Tree Tops Trail is able to run in most weather conditions including heavy rain. It may be necessary during strong winds, lightning or exceptionally cold weather to close the trail. In this case, Heatherton World of Activities will reasonably endeavour to re-accommodate your group by re-booking a different time slot, or offer one of the many other activities Heatherton can provide in these conditions.
You need to be reasonably fit and agile as there is an element of both physical and mental challenge involved. If you are able to climb up a flight of stairs without becoming breathless then you should be fine. We recommend that pregnant women or people with medical conditions do not participate before contacting their doctor, due to the potential risk. Due to the fitting requirements of the safety equipment, it may be necessary for participants with a larger or smaller frame to wear a chest harness.
